Two semi-detached single-family houses in the Baviera Golf Urbanization in Torre del Mar.
These plots enjoy a good orientation, located right next to the Baviera golf course, and therefore have excellent views of both the golf course itself and the sea, which is about 800 meters away.
The plots have a descending slope towards the golf course, about 3 meters. In compliance with the building regulations for hillside construction of the Vélez-Málaga General Urban Plan, the garden, solarium, and pool area in both houses were constructed at a mid-height between the ground floor and the basement. This means that from the ground floor, one must descend 150 cm (9 steps), and from the basement, one must ascend 150 cm (9 steps) to reach the garden pool area.
In this way, the basement level is not truly a basement, as it receives natural light and ventilation through its semi-façade facing the garden.
The basement level is also illuminated and ventilated from the street side through an English courtyard, which has created similar conditions to a ground floor, increasing the total habitable space of the house.
As shown in the video, the pools were placed transversely to optimize the remaining space of the terrace-garden.
